Jamie, and Dexter the Border Terrier. Social media management in Colchester

This Is Jamie

Jamie is in charge of the content and the social media side for Border Media.

Highly experienced in the world of social media management, digital content and marketing, Jamie has been working in the industry since joining the Football Association in 1997, initially within their Competitions & Regulations department. After moving to their busy Communications team he spent 15 years working across their digital platforms and print publications, and was a leading figure behind the development of governing body’s website and social media channels.

As editor of the website and manager of the editorial team, Jamie was heavily involved in the creation of the FA’s online video output from 2002, which became FATV, while also launching the first FA and England social media accounts in the late ‘noughties’ across Twitter and Facebook, followed by Instagram ahead of the World Cup in Brazil.

Jamie worked closely with the England national teams set-up and travelled with squads to numerous tournaments and matches, including the 2014 World Cup in Brazil and four editions of the UEFA U21s Championship, and was responsible for all the digital content output from inside the Three Lions camp and at matches.

For nearly nine years, Jamie was also editor for all FA matchday publications, in charge of writing and managing content for more than 150 match programmes, primarily for FA Cup Finals and England matches at Wembley Stadium.

Jamie left The FA in December 2015 so he could get a dog – Dexter – and run his own businesses; social media management in Colchester and football coaching in Colchester.

While still writing for FA match programmes, he also manages content and social media for numerous companies and events, both big and small, through Border Media, based in Colchester, Essex.

Some of the companies Jamie has been working with since the start of 2016, managing social media channels and creating content, include; Pitch International, Macesport, Haymarket Network, Star Sixes, Toulon Tournament, Vauxhall, KE Jones Builders, JBFC Football Coaching, Precision Goalkeeping and Training, Air Race 1, Wise Security.

Away from the office, Jamie is a UEFA B Licenced Coach running his own Football Coaching school in Colchester – JBFC – and is first team manager of Suffolk-based non-league club, Long Melford, who play in the Thurlow Nunn Premier Division.

Jamie’s best mate is Dexter, the Border Terrier.
